Bespoke Commercial Mirror Supply, Cut to Size and Fitted
SGC Glass supplies and installs bespoke commercial mirrors for gyms, dance, pilates and yoga studios, hotels, restaurants, retail spaces, offices and public buildings across Essex, London and the Southeast. Every mirror is cut precisely to your specification and installed by our own qualified glaziers, giving you a single point of contact from first measurement to final fixing.
Established in 1995, SGC Glass has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship and reliable service. With over 30 years of glazing experience, ConstructionLine, Achilles, CHAS and Safe Contractor accreditations, and CSCS-carded operatives trained on IPAF and PASMA access equipment, we handle everything from a single feature mirror in a boutique hotel to a full wall of bespoke gym or studio mirrors.
Why Choose SGC Glass for Commercial Mirror Installation
Most online mirror retailers do not install. Many general installers do not offer bespoke cutting and finishing in-house. SGC Glass brings both together: we supply the mirror glass cut to your exact dimensions, finish the edges to your specification, and the same team coordinates the on-site fit. That continuity removes the sizing errors and handover issues that arise when supplier and installer are different companies.
- Mirror glass cut to size: every panel cut precisely to your wall dimensions, with a wide range of finishes and edge treatments
- Own installation team: qualified glaziers working directly for SGC Glass, not agency labour or third-party fitters
- Oversized panel handling: we have the access equipment and experience to install large mirror panels safely
- Safety compliance: ConstructionLine, Achilles & CHAS accredited, Safe Contractor approved and fully insured
- Enhanced DBS-checked operatives available for installations in schools, healthcare settings and other sensitive environments
- 7-star Google and 4.9 Trustpilot rating from clients across Essex, London and the Southeast
Commercial Mirror Applications We Cover
Gym and Fitness Studio Mirrors
Gym mirror installation is one of our most requested commercial services. We supply and fit impact-resistant safety mirrors for free-weight areas, functional training zones, PT studios and home gyms, with a foam backing panel that absorbs impact and helps hold the mirror in place if it is ever damaged. This makes them well suited to commercial gyms, CrossFit boxes and other leisure facilities where physical activity around the mirror is a daily occurrence.
Dance, Pilates, Yoga and Theatre Studio Mirrors
Dance, pilates and yoga studios benefit from uninterrupted reflective walls so users can see their full range of movement. We cut mirror glass to the dimensions of your wall, supply oversized panels where required and install with the appropriate fixing method for a clean, professional finish that lasts.
Hotels and Hospitality
We supply bespoke mirrors for hotel lobbies and lifts, corridors, guest rooms and spa areas across the hospitality sector. Decorative finishes, including antiqued, bronze and grey smoked mirrors, add character to period properties and boutique interiors. For hotels undergoing refurbishment, we work to your programme schedule and can install outside of peak guest hours where required.
Restaurants and Bars
Mirrors in restaurant and bar settings serve both a practical and design purpose, creating a sense of space and reflecting light in rooms that often lack natural illumination. We cut mirrors to custom shapes for feature walls, alcoves and behind-bar installations, with bevelled or polished edges to suit the interior style. Antiqued mirror panels are particularly popular in cocktail bars and period dining rooms.
Retail Fit-Outs
Changing room mirrors, full-height fitting room panels and decorative wall mirrors for retail environments are all part of our commercial mirror service. For multi-site retailers, we can supply matching panels for consistent sizing and finish across every store, and we work to handover deadlines set by main contractors.
Offices and Corporate Spaces
Made-to-measure mirrors for office washrooms, reception areas and meeting rooms. For corporate headquarters and serviced office buildings we supply mirrors that meet the specifications set by facilities managers, including safety-backed options for high-traffic washroom environments.
Mirror Types, Finishes and Edge Treatments
We cut and supply mirrors in a full range of finishes, thicknesses and edge treatments. Every mirror is made to measure and finished to your specification.
Mirror Finishes
- Standard silvered mirror: the most common choice for gyms, studios and commercial washrooms
- Bronze mirror: a warm-toned finish suited to hospitality interiors, restaurant feature walls and residential projects
- Grey mirror: a contemporary finish popular in modern office reception areas and retail environments
- Smoked mirror: a darker, muted reflective surface for bars, nightclubs and high-end residential bathrooms
- Antiqued mirror: deliberately distressed for a vintage or period aesthetic, ideal for boutique hotels and heritage property interiors
- Decorative and patterned finishes: available on request for bespoke interior design projects
Finishing and Edge Options
Our glaziers can apply a wide range of finishes and edge treatments, including sandblasting, drilling, CNC cut-outs, polishing and edge work from simple flat polished edges through to bevels from 6mm to 40mm in width. If you are not sure which option suits your project, supply us with a reference photograph and we will recommend the right approach for the look you want.
Custom Shapes and Oversized Panels
We are not limited to standard rectangular panels. We cut mirrors to circular, arched, hexagonal and irregular shapes for feature installations, and we have the equipment and experience to handle oversized panels for oversized installations in gyms, studios and feature interiors.
How We Install Commercial Mirrors
Our installation process is designed for commercial environments where accuracy, safety and minimal disruption matter. Here is what to expect:
- Free site survey: one of our team members visits your premises to measure the installation area, assess wall condition, check access routes for large panels, and discuss your requirements for finish, sizing and layout
- Specification and quotation: a detailed written quote covering mirror type, thickness, edge treatment, fixing method and a confirmed installation timeline
- Cutting and finishing: mirrors are cut to your exact dimensions with the chosen edge finish, drilling, sandblasting or CNC work applied before delivery
- Wall preparation: our glaziers assess the wall surface on installation day; for adhesive-fixed mirrors the wall must be flat, dry and free from loose plaster or paint, and we will advise if any remedial preparation is needed
- Installation: mirrors are fitted using the appropriate fixing method for your wall type and environment, with specialist handling equipment used for large or heavy panels
- Final inspection: every panel is checked for alignment, secure fixing and clean edges before we leave site
Fixing Methods
The right fixing method depends on the wall substrate, mirror size and weight, and the environment. Common methods include:
- Adhesive fixing: high-strength mirror adhesive applied to a prepared wall, giving a clean, frameless appearance with no visible fixings
- Mirror screws: chrome-capped screws through pre-drilled holes, suitable for heavier panels or where the mirror may need to be removed in future
- J-track channel: an aluminium channel fixed along the bottom edge of the wall, with the mirror sitting in the channel; common in gym and dance studio installations where panels run in a continuous line
- Hidden fixings: concealed bracket systems that support the mirror from behind, giving a floating appearance, popular in hotel lobbies, restaurants and high-end retail

Commercial Mirror Installation FAQs
Large gym mirrors are typically mounted using a J-track channel along the base combined with high-strength adhesive or mirror screws to secure the panel to the wall. For larger panels our glaziers use specialist handling equipment to position the mirror accurately and safely. For the mirror itself, see the Safety Specifications section above for our standard recommendation in gym environments.
There is no single right answer because it depends on the wall to be covered, the type of activity and where equipment such as racks or barres will sit. As part of our free site survey, we measure the space and recommend the panel sizes and layout that give the best coverage with the fewest joins.
Yes, for any installation in a public building, gym, school, leisure centre or healthcare setting we always recommend a safety mirror rather than a standard silvered panel. The exact specification we suggest is covered in the Safety Specifications section above.
The most common methods are adhesive bonding, mirror screws, J-track channel systems and hidden bracket fixings. The right method depends on the wall substrate, the size and weight of the mirror and the visual finish you want. Our team will recommend the most appropriate fixing method during your free site survey.
Yes. We cut mirrors to any shape and size, including circular, arched, hexagonal and irregular profiles. The full range of finishes, edge treatments and decorative options is listed above. Every panel is made to measure and installed by our own glaziers.
Yes. Our installation team is available for enhanced DBS checks, and we hold CHAS and Safe Contractor accreditation along with the CSCS cards and NVQ qualifications expected on these sites. We regularly install in school drama and dance studios, gymnasium halls, NHS premises and private healthcare facilities.
Lead time depends on the scope of the project, the mirror finishes specified and any custom shape work involved. We confirm timescales in writing at the quotation stage so you can plan around your own programme.
