Working closely with the client

SGC Glass worked closely with the main contractor ISG and the client team throughout the project. Communication included pre-start meetings, detailed site surveys, regular Microsoft Teams calls, and on-site progress reviews.

Having previously worked with ISG, SGC Glass was selected based on the team’s deep product knowledge, high-quality installations, and ability to provide cost-effective alternatives that aligned with the client’s objectives.

Overcoming challenges

The site remained live and operational throughout the installation, requiring careful planning and execution. Internal hoarding was installed to form exclusion zones and reduce disruption to staff and visitors. Noise and dust management measures were also put in place.

Weekend working hours were agreed for the shopfront installation, which was located adjacent to the main entrance. A Jekko glazing robot was used to carry out this phase quickly and safely, without interrupting public access.

Quality and satisfaction

SGC Glass maintained high standards of workmanship through senior team inspections and onsite audits using AuditPro. The client provided consistently positive feedback on both product quality and service delivery.

The project was completed two weeks ahead of the original schedule, with the client expressing full satisfaction at handover. The final glazing solutions delivered a 50–64% improvement in thermal efficiency compared to the original single-glazed Crittall windows.

Ongoing support

SGC Glass maintained a proactive approach to client communication, including daily progress updates and prompt responses to all queries. At project close, a full O&M package, including cleaning and maintenance manuals, was issued to support long-term care.

“The project was completed ahead of schedule, with strong communication and great attention to detail from the SGC Glass team throughout.”

SGC Glass continues to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and high-performance glazing solutions across public sector and commercial environments throughout London and the South East.
