The next chapter of SGC Glass – we have moved!

Here at SGC, we have been serving customers since 1995, providing expert and reliable services for many sectors as well as residents around Essex and Greater London. But with 2021 marking our 26th year in this industry we are moving to a far bigger and better premises! We have moved from our small unit in Stanford-le-Hope to a much larger unit in Wickford, Essex. This move marks the beginning of a new chapter for us as a business and we are so thrilled to bring both new and existing customers along on the journey with us.

As we continue to expand our business and provide services in sectors such as new build developments, schools and colleges and retail to name just a few, we are excited about what the future will bring. We believe it is important to take time to reflect on the key moments that have led us to the success that we are seeing today.

The Beginning Of SGC Glass

Since taking over Stanford Glass Contracts (as it was formerly known) in 1995, the industry has changed substantially. When we began operating all those years ago, we began on a local scale helping residents with jobs such as repairs to greenhouses and windows in residential properties. With just a small team and the vision of helping give back to our local community we have since built a name for ourselves, not only continuing to help our local community but expanding to take on larger jobs farther afield. With a reputation building within our local area and turnover beginning to be generated from these jobs, we knew we had the beginning of a brand that would be recognised throughout Essex, Greater London and Kent and this became known as SGC GLASS LTD.

Since then, our forward-thinking family-run business has expanded. Whilst we have welcomed new team members and adapted to industry changes, we have maintained our core family values to ensure we are delivering the best service to each and every customer. We continue to deliver outstanding work on commercial and domestic properties with amazing results. As a result of our hard work and dedication, we have gained a catalogue of happy customers, as reflected in some of our online reviews and case studies. As we head into our 26th year of trading this year we are proud to continue bringing our services to a wide range of exciting projects.

The Growth From Local Business To Leading UK Glaziers

November 11th 2020 marked 25 years of SGC Glass within the industry and with this significant milestone has come a large amount of change and adaptation. When we think back to 1995 and the jobs we were completing, it is clear to see the evolution of the business to where we are now.

Not only have we improved our green credentials by becoming a paperless business we have also updated many of our systems to aid us in becoming a cloud-based business adapting to the new normal – of working from home throughout the covid-19 pandemic. Also, we have grown the skills of our team to help us complete bigger and more complex jobs year on year. Whilst we still enjoy giving back to the local community with residential repairs, we have continued to expand our catalogue of corporate clients completing exciting projects in high profile buildings and venues in London and the surrounding areas.

Throughout this time, our team at SGC Glass have also been leading the way with new technology that has helped us to complete high-level replacement projects and glass installations in hard to reach places – to the utmost standards of safety and workmanship with the assistance of top of the range powered access equipment like cherry pickers, scissor lifts and glazing robots.

Additionally, the team are also regularly attending industry-leading events such as the FIT Show in Birmingham to make sure that we are always finding new and innovative products. We are always wanting to learn more and attend events to see what we can do to help ourselves grow as a company whilst continuing to strive for perfection.
